About the Band

Kevin Greenwood, handles harmonica, slide guitar and vocals. He has played “nothin’ but the blues” for over 40 years; learning harmonica as a teenager from James Cotton, Jr. Wells, and Louis Myers; and slide guitar from Hound Dog Taylor and Luther Tucker. After fronting a band in the 60’s he had the opportunity to sit in with or play alongside artists including The Aces, Dave Alexander, Charles Brown, Earl Hooker, Freddie Roulette, Hound Dog Taylor, Jimmy Reed, John Brim, John Lee Hooker, L.C. ‘Good Rockin’ Robinson, Lowell Fulson, Luther Tucker, Magic Sam, Muddy Waters, and Sunnyland Slim. His harp playing reflects the style and tone of his musical influences – Little Walter, Big Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson, and Junior Wells.
All Kevin's amps are built, rebuilt or customized, and maintained by Skip Simmons. Kevin plays Suzuki harmonicas with harp customization by Gary Lehmann. Mic customization by Mark Overman, John Prado, and Johnny Ace...
The backing band varies but always features outstanding musicians, including blues guitarists whose influences range from T-Bone Walker, Magic Sam, Freddie King, and Luther Tucker, to Robert Lockwood Jr., Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, and Hubert Sumlin.
